Mokita Grit Youth Theatre, under the umbrella of Mokita Grit Productions, is seeking a co-founder and associate director to work alongside Artistic Director, Ben Murray-Watson.
Mokita Grit Youth Company. Community in London. Run and taught by professional theatre practitioners, we specialize in creating unique and wonderful individuals through integrated group work and performance. Through company workshops, classes and games, we aim to develop confidence, teamwork, and a community of young people who are capable of taking these attributes into their school, their home and their peer groups. Mokita Grit Youth Company values integrity above celebrity. Students will gain invaluable performance and people skills to not only give them a great platform for further training but also to help them become creative and consummate lovers of life.
Emphasis here is on company. We aim to create small pockets of community in spaces throughout London. A company of young people will meet on a weekly basis and grow and develop together as a team. Initially working with 8 – 12 year olds, the right candidate must be extremely ambitious and energetic and have a true and real love of working with young people. This is a long term project and the successful applicant, as well as leading or assisting the weekly classes, will have a strong say in the creative and artistic development of the company.
